Important news about Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa and The Royal Islander
The entities that operate Royal Uno® All Inclusive Resort & Spa (Royal Uno) and The Royal Islander® have been acquired by affiliates of Tortuga Resorts UK Limited (“Tortuga”), an owner of luxury beachfront resorts across Mexico and the Caribbean.
In a separate transaction, the remaining Royal Resorts related companies, including its companies that own and operate The Royal Sands®, The Royal Cancun®, The Royal Haciendas® and Grand Residences by Royal Resorts® have been sold to Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated, a leading vacation ownership company.
Royal Resorts entities not acquired by Tortuga will continue to assist in managing the operation of Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa and its membership plan on a temporary basis until further notice.
No immediate operational changes have been implemented at Royal Uno as a result of this transaction. Royal Uno will continue to offer the same quality standards, hospitality, dining experiences and unforgettable vacation moments guests have come to expect, and guests will be welcomed by the same resort staff.
Current reservations at Royal Uno and The Royal Islander have not been changed and will not be impacted as a result of the acquisition. In the case of The Royal Islander, new reservations will only be accepted for stays before July 15.
The Royal Islander 30-year membership program terminates on July 15, 2023, and this is the final day of operations at the resort. As a result, The Royal Islander will close on July 16 and will be sold.
